Helio Gracie was a Brazilian martial artist and one of the key figures in the development and popularization of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Helio overcame physical limitations to revolutionize the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He founded the first Gracie Academy and shared his innovative techniques with students, including his own children. Helio’s contributions extended beyond the mat, as he played a vital role in spreading the effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu around the world.

Master Royler Gracie
Royler Gracie, a living legend of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
Son of Helio Gracie and a member of the famed Gracie family, Royler is one of the greatest BJJ practitioners of all time. With multiple world titles to his name, he is known for his technical mastery, strategic acumen, and unparalleled athleticism.
In addition to his competitive exploits, Royler has dedicated himself to teaching and spreading BJJ, inspiring generations of practitioners around the world. His dedication to excellence and indelible legacy make him an iconic figure in the martial arts.

Master Sylvain Moroney
Sylvain was one of the first BJJ pioneers and black belts in Canada.
A student of Royler Gracie, Sylvain was posthumously awarded the title of Master of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, making him the first Canadian born to receive this title.
Having taught in Ontario and Quebec, he has many students who are now black belts across Canada. His knowledge of BJJ is unmatched, encompassing a deep understanding of the technique, strategy and underlying principles of the art.

Professor Dan Moroney
Dan, along with his brother Sylvain, was one of the pioneers of BJJ and a Canadian-born black belt.
Currently a 5th degree black belt under Master Royler Gracie, he has competed in numerous events over the years.
Owner and Head Instructor of Gracie Humaita Woodbridge Academy in the Toronto area.

Professor Karl Theberge
Karl devoted 10 years to the art of Shotokan Karate and 25 years of mastery of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the tutelage of Master Sylvain Moroney, and now Professor Dan Moroney.
Throughout his martial journey, he has learned the importance of perseverance and constant learning. Convinced of the transformative power of martial arts, he firmly believes that everyone, regardless of age or physical condition, can benefit from it.
Martial arts have been a compass for him, helping him overcome many of life's challenges. His ultimate goal is to inspire others to gain confidence, discipline and focus through the exciting practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
